Tassels & Tuscany

September 3, 2019

Next on my Italian itinerary was Cortona, Tuscany. I stayed at the lovely Hotel San Michele right near the town square. I’m pretty sure this city is Italy’s best kept secret. After the bustle of Rome and the Amalfi Coast, Cortona was a peaceful respite. The town itself has been around for almost 3,000 years and is a mixture of ancient churches, monasteries, medieval architecture, wineries, and olive groves. Like most European destinations, Cortona is best explored on foot; I suggest a cute pair of walking shoes (my go-to pair is linked below).

If you venture to this particular city make sure to hike to the apex where you’ll find the church of Santa Margherita. From there, you can enjoy the church’s elaborate interior and 2,000 ft. views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. On the way back down to the town square, do yourself a favor and stop for some bolognese pasta with grated cloves (who new this was a thing?) and enjoy a local wine. YUM.

This outfit was absolutely perfect for the weather–it was again in the high 90s so having something breathable was paramount! Also, this was such an easy look to dress-up for evening with my Favorite Zara heels (you can find them here). I finished out my look with my trusty bamboo arc bag and my essential tassel earrings. I highly recommend these lovelies as they instantly elevate and pull together a look–especially if you are into the white shoe trend that currently in full-force. Added bonus, they are lightweight and comfortable! I brought a ton of earrings but found myself consistently reaching for these. The originals are by Baublebar but I’ve also linked an Amazon pair below that pack all the style and that ring in at less than half the price.
